MI took clothes in there cause I need the cash but have never heard back and selling period is over. Most clothes and shoe I took were new and I said I want them back if they did not sell. They never contact you and donated my clothes without contacting me. They say it's all in the contract you sign but they should mention this as a courtesy. I wonder how many folks have been screwed over by not going back for Money or clothes. It seems like a not friendly business model that has no time to contact the people who make their business possible. although I've got my money from sales, I am upset all my clothes are gone. By the way they say they donate clothes 'pretty quickly after two months' so you have to get on there at the exact two month date to collect unsold items or they are 'donated', which seems a bit questionable.

The first few times I consigned with Karen's Kloset, I had great experiences. I'm young and buy trendy, better brand clothes. I aged out of taking my clothes to Plato's - where I always had great service and they almost always took 90% of my clothes - and a friend recommended I bring my clothes here. I would easily make $50-100 for a haul of clothes. Today I took about 30 pieces of my own clothes and my husband's casual tops. About half our pieces were new with tags, and brands were Limited, Ralph Lauren, and Express. But what did KK take? My old workout clothes from Target and Old Navy. They told me to iron my NWT items and bring them back. I get it and I don't. They probably get tons of clothes, and they want to do as little work as possible. (I had steamed most of the clothes before I brought them, but clothes wrinkle pretty easily when you're hauling them across town. But I suppose that's beside the point.) But I left with a really strange feeling that my old workout tops are better sellers than brand new, with tags, name brand clothes. My consignment days are over. I'd rather give my nice clothes to someone who needs them, instead of burning gas and time trying to guess what will be accepted and prepare accordingly. Like someone else mentioned, I have had some negative experiences in the past. My experience today was alright, but in the past, some employees have told me they won't look at clothes that aren't on hangers "so you can take that back home." I own a business and I can't imagine being so dismissive to vendors or customers. Perhaps the market for second-hand is just very different from the market for new stuff.
